Brand Designer: Bianca Sosa - Responsible for the logo creation, identity guidelines, and designing uniforms, signage, stationery, and general merchandise.

Brief
The project involved crafting the identity for Te Kura Whakatipu o Kawarau, a new primary school in Queenstown, New Zealand. The school, with a significant gifted Māori name, aimed to honour the local iwi and the area's rich history. The branding needed to reflect the school's values, local landmarks, and cultural heritage.

Execution
In collaboration with the school's board and a Queenstown Kimatu, the brand identity and logo were developed.

Key elements included
Remarkables Mountain Range: Incorporated the iconic three peaks (double cone and single cone) representing learning pillars and the school's guiding force, along with the chief of the gifted name.
Flax Flower and Leaves: Symbolising growth , with eight flowers on the flax stem representing the school's eight classes.
Tui Bird: Local to the area, signifying the gathering of our community — overseeing looking to the north toward our responsibility to the greater Queenstown community.
Colour Palette: Primary colours to resonate with the primary school environment.

Outcome
The branding encapsulated the school's ethos, local significance, and educational aspirations. It was extensively applied across various mediums, including wayfinding, interior design, and student uniforms, creating a cohesive and culturally rich environment. The project successfully bridged traditional Maori symbolism with modern educational values, establishing a unique identity for Te Kura Whakatipu o Kawarau.
